Feedback from our guests

Fare Suisse is a hidden gem amongst guest houses in Tahiti! It was very clean with great bathroom & kitchen facilities and free wifi and also very reasonably priced. It is very centrally located with only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Papeete. Beni is very helpful and made my stay very comfortable - I look forward to visiting Tahiti again & when I do I will certainly stay at Fare Suisse again.

Even though it was very late at night and we were delayed in Customs, Beni was right on time to pick us up from our flight from New Zealand. The room was quiet and clean. The common area was great for relaxing and doing any cooking and snack storage that you may need. It was also a great place to meet other travelers from all over the world. When we left for Huahine and Moorea Beni offered to stored our ‘extra’ suitcases while we took in the outer islands. When we came back from Moorea, Beni picked us up from the airport and let us use one of the rooms (for a very reasonable fee) to freshen up and have a nap before our late departure back to Canada. Faire Suisse is a great stop over while in Tahiti and Beni makes the experience a friendly and pleasant one.

Nice guesthouse in nice sourrounding just  a little bit up the hill of  Papete with a nice view aqnd nice Garden around. Walking distance to the harbour and downtown about 15 minutes. Offers appartements and shared rooms with a nice teracce and common room and kitchen. Beni is friendly picks you up at the airport, bring you there and informs you about all the possibilities to do in Tahiti. For a short Visit in Thaiti (just an hour boat ride from Moorea) or a stop before going on further to the islands or com back from there, an ideal place to stay.

Last August, we stayed in Fare Suisse, an amazing guesthouse.Beni was a perfect combination of Swiss efficiency and a Polynesian hospitality. A Highly recommended place to stay.
05.02.10 - Luiz Carlos & Marli Sirlei, from Brazil

We stayed at Fare-Suisse for 9 nights as part of a 7 month round the world trip and we had a brilliant time.  Beni was a fantastic host he collected us from the airport and nothing was too much trouble for him. Fare Suisse is very near to the local supermarket and the kitchen facilities are great to make your own food, and dining out on the veranda is very relaxing and quiet.  You can also walk into town if you fancy eating out. We explored the island and caught the ferry to Moorea which is beautiful and well worth a visit.  We also hired snorkels and masks from Beni which is a must. I would definitely recommend Fare-Suisse to anyone visiting Tahiti, it's a hidden treasure and great value for money.

I was looking as everybody for a well located, not expensive and nice place within Papeete. Such a place really exist at Fare Suisse ! Everything within Papeete is at walking distance from Fare suisse. Our room + kitchen was really big and very clean. We really enjoyed to stay there. And last point, the price, not expensive at all and including airport pickup ! Thus do not hesitate, go fare Suisse
15.01.10 - Pascale from France

Togehther with my wife we took a stop during our round-the-world trip in Papeete in August 2009. A perfect stay for four nights in Papeete! Fare Suisse guesthouse is located in a very quiet and peaceful area and at the same time near to teller machine and supermarket. City center is within walking distance. Beni, the owner, was very courteous, provided perfect airport pick up and he also organised a round-the-isle-trip for us. We want to highlight the great feeling good there and a unsurpassed value-price relation. We can higly recommend to have a stay at fare suisse guesthouse.
19.12.09 - Christine and Guenther from Vienna/Austria

Both Simon and I would like to say a very big thank you for the great hospitality you show use when we stayed at Fare Suisse at the beginning of September (3/09/2009) and then again at the end of our cruise two weeks later. We loved staying at Fare Suisse.  You are a great host – your kindness and generosity in picking up and dropping your guests at various places around Papeete is just fabulous and added a lovely dimension to the holiday experience. And you were so cheerful and helpful at three o’clock in the morning when we first arrived. The Bora Bora accommodation was very comfortable, clean and quiet and the kitchen very handy for breakfast in the morning. Your location is great. The supermarket just down the bottom of your road made grocery shopping a breeze and the town centre only a fifteen minute walk away for dinner at night or shopping during the day. The big market in town is a must and a great place to find a nice quick lunch.  I particularly appreciated your offer of the use of the lounge and bathroom upstairs before we caught our flight back to Australia early in the evening even though technically we had checked out earlier in the day. We definitely made the right choice in deciding to stay at Fare Suisse rather than the big hotel on the beach that the travel agent recommended – so few people in the tourism business enjoy their guests as much as you do. We will definitely stay with you again should we ever return.  All the best
31.11.09 - Simon and Lorraine from Australia

We really enjoyed our stay in Fare Suisse! It was great to find a clean and comfortable room after we had stayed in some not so nice places during our travel. The service was good and friendly and the free airport pick up an excellent bonus. The breakfast was basic but very fresh and we enjoyed it even though it was not included in the price. The centre of the town is a small walk but we found the area nice and safe and there is a very nice pizza/pasta restaurant and a supermarket very close. We would stay here again and would defenately recommend Fare Suisse to our friends too.
19.10.09 - Petter & Sanni from Finland

We really enjoyed our stay at Fare Suisse.  It is a lovely, clean and friendly place and is very handy to all the interesting spots in Papeete.  The breakfast is lovely too – although if I had to think of one possible improvement, plunger coffee would be very nice for caffeine addicts like us!  But really, the thing that makes Fare Suisse so special is you and your lovely staff, as you made a real effort to ensure we were happy – dropping off and picking up, suggesting ideas for activities, and generally ensuring our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and much more than just a stopover on our way to Moorea.  We would definitely stay at Fare Suisse again if we were lucky enough to come back to Tahiti.
18.10.09 - Alice et Ayesha from USA

I can't imagine a better place to stay in Papeete- infallible airport service, immaculate rooms, excellent breakfast and charming friendly staff; and all this only minutes walk from the centre of town but in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood
30.09.09 - Louise from the USA

We stayed at the Fare Suisse before and after our cruise, the new rooms are fantastic in fact the whole of the Fare Suisse was a place to remember, we were looked after by Beni very well from the time that he picked us up from the airport to the time he dropped us off at the airport,we had an early flight but the was no problem to Beni. The staff were always very helpful and the place was always kept very clean and tidy. In all our stay at Fare Suisse was fantastic and so was the price. We would recommend staying here to every one.
25.09.09 - Lynn & Paul from the US

After our 18-hour flight we were so glad to see Benni, the owner of Fare-Suisse, waiting for us when we arrived at the airport.  He drove us to the hotel; it sits atop a hill several blocks behind the bustling main street so it is quiet and restful.   Our room was 'no-frills' tidy and immaculately clean.  There is a large supermarket 1 block from the hotel where we bought food for our dinners; guest have free access to the communal kitchen where we stored and cooked our food.  We ate our dinners on the large, peaceful outdoor veranda.
The best aspect of our stay at Fare-Suisse was the graciousness of Benni.  On our last day we had 8 hours between check-out and our flight departure.  He provided a place for us to have access to our luggage, take a shower, and we had use of the lovely veranda and kitchen.  Benni personally drives guests to and from the airport and cruise ship docks at no extra charge; in addition to this convenience, not having to pay the costly Papeete taxi fares is a real bonus.  The Fare-Suisse has to be the best deal on Tahiti!
07.08.09 - Bob & Meg Stebbins, Masssachusetts, USA

We are an Australian family of four. We found  Fare Suisse on the internet and consulted Trip Advisor to acqauint ourselves with other travellers' experiences. We need not have worried. Our email correspondence was promptly answered. We were met at the airport by Beni when our late night flight arrived. We were very impressed by the freshness of the rooms and by the terrace from where we had a wonderful view. A treat was to be able to make a cup of tea in the kitchen any time we wanted. Beni was very helpful with information about Papeete. We would recommend Fare Suisse to travellers looking for a convenient, relaxed and efficiently run home-away-from-home
05.08.09 - Marilyn from Australia

Fare Suisse provided exactly what we were after for an over night stay in Papeete during our Honeymoon. Beni collected us from the airport (even though our flight was quite late) and took us straight to his guest house for a good night’s sleep. We walked into town in the morning to look around and to get some breakfast supplies and brought them back to eat where we had full use of the kitchen. Beni minded our bags during the day while we waited for our next flight and dropped us off again at the airport. Great service and great value, thoroughly recommended!
24.07.09 - Michael and Sarah from Sydney.

My four days spent at in Tahiti were wonderful thanks, in part, to Fare Suisse and the gracious host, Beni.  Beni picked me up at the airport in Papeete even though the scheduled time of arrival was very late.  He also provided transportation back to the airport when I departed Tahiti.  I knew immediately that I would be able to relax in the guest-house on Rue des poilus tahitiens.  My room 'Tahiti' had a comfortable double bed...lots of storage space and, best of all, huge patio doors leading directly to the comfortable deck/outside living room.  It was a very pleasant walk to the centre of Papeete.....don't miss eating at the 'roulottes' in the port area.  The location of Fare-Suisse is just perfect, very quiet and close to a huge grocery store.  Secluded behind a security gate, the only things that you will meet as you leave Fare Suisse for your adventures are the roosters :-)  There were other guests while I was there but there was never an issue using the very clean, shared washroom/toilet facilities.  It was fun exchanging travel information and ideas with the other guests.  All in all...a very relaxing time...great value.  Thanks again Beni...I'll be back!'
23.07.09 - Don from Montreal/Canada

"Beni is the most hospitable host in Papeete and Fare-Suisse is a gem!"
19.07.09 - Wink and Robyn from Canada

Yes, it was a real pleasure to stay at your place as we just unloaded from our plane. We have especially appreciated the pick-up at the airport and the free ride to your hostel. Then, we have found a nice quiet place in the back country (yet very close) of Pepeete. Our hostess was kind and helpful during our stay. The room was clean and breakfast served on the patio near the garden.
12.07.09 - Sylvie and Michel from Montréal, Québec

We arrived in Papetee in the middle of the night and you were there, welcoming us with a smile… We had a short but great stay. We appreciated your kindness, advices and wish to accomodate us as much as possible. I would not hesitate to recommand your B&B to my friends…and to go back! I wish you all success in your endeavours. Thank you. Sylvie
07.07.09 - Sylvie from Montréal

I found our stay at the Fare-Suisse exceptionally pleasant. That good feeling began when Beni met the flight at the airport and continued through to the end.
The Fare-Suisse is very central to Papeete and close to public transport. Other much more expensive properties really require a car or booked tours for any exploration. Within easy walking distance is a good supermarket, a couple of fine restaurants and all the attractions of the town.
The rooms are clean and well appointed; the facilities mean that one easily could prepare one's own meals and, so, is very good value for families or groups.
I recommend the Fare-Suisse to anyone who wants to have a stay amongst the people; you feel you can become part of the local community.
27.06.09 - Grant from Australia

We stayed with our family for two nights in Fare Suisse. Beni, the very friendly owner, picked us up from the airport. The appartment was clean and quite. The next day Beni brought us to the Moorea ferry. On our return trip from Moorea to Tahiti he was waiting at the ferry to bring us back to Fair Suisse. And the next morning he brought us again (very early) to the airport!! Were do you find such a fantastic FREE service??? Not on Tahiti!! Beni, thanks for giving us a very comfortable feeling during our short stay in your beautiful appartment!
19.06.09 - Francois, Willy and Danja from the Netherland

This very nice, very clean and very stylish place was one of the best things on Tahiti. We especially thank Beni and his wife for the warm welcome, pic up from the airport and drop off again and the recomendations they gave us about the island and the neighbourisland Moorea. We had a really good time on the snorkle day trip the Faire Suisse offers. Living in Faire Suisse is a bit like coming home, because it is small and you feel like visiting a nice family abroad. So thanks to the Faire Suisse Team and we would definitly come back to this nice Hostel\Hotel again
10.06.09 - Carmen from Austria

Perfect Place to stay a few days enjoying the city of Papeete. The location is ideal for shopping downtown or taking the ferry to an other close island for the day! The room are nicely furnished and the Welcome ist like the name says, "Swiss Touch" very very friendly! Beni took care of catching us at the airport, everything went very smoothly, and it was a pleasure to stay at the fare suisse! I would definitely recommand to stay there for everybody, young, old, couple.
20.05.09 - Patrizia and Yann, Switzerland.

I had a very relaxed, comfortable 24 hour stay at Fare -Suisse. It was clean, quiet, beautiful with a lovely breakfast provided. The hospitality provided by Beni and staff was greatly appreciated and they answered all queries I had. The plush surroundings of native trees made the place feel cozy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying on the island. The free transportation to and from the airport was so convenient and helpful and made for a stress free time on my way back home to Canada. Thanks so much!
16.05.09 - Lara from Canada

We recently spent 3 days and 4 nights at the Fare Suisse. It was definitely not a long enough stay in Tahiti but was certainly long enough to discover that the Fare Suisse is a very special place.   We loved the peaceful setting, the gorgeous tropical flowers, and the enthusiastic and friendly owner, Beni.  The Fare Suisse was a refreshing change from those typical, run-of-the-mill, overly large, uninspiring resorts.  We enjoyed being in town among the locals, shopping at the Champion supermarket just down the hill, and walking to dinner at the nearby Roulottes.  We stayed in the Fare Suisse Bora Bora apartment and loved the colorful Tahitian decor, private terrace, and full kitchen.   And the roosters cock-a-doodle-doodling every morning were hilarious!  Thank you Beni for making our time in Tahiti so enjoyable.  We wish you the best with your remodeling and expansion and hope to see you again!
10.05.09 - Tina and Lance from Oregon USA

This is my third trip to Tahiti in twenty years. Last trip was with my husband for our scuba-diving honeymoon on Manihi and Rangiora and this time with our 8 and 11 years old daughters on Maupiti, Bora Bora, Riatea and Huahine. My husband and I love Tahiti so much we always wanted to come back for a longer stay. However, we know it is not a cheap place to travel especially, with a family for three weeks. So when we found Fare-Suisse near the center of Papeetee, we thought this is it! It was perfect for us as market, night market and supermarket/corner shop (where you can buy fresh french sticks early in the morning for breakfast) were closeby and more importantly it was quiet and very clean. It cerainly helped stretching our budget to stay extra days to experience the beauty of Tahiti and Tahitians. Our daughters want to go to Fakaraba next time to swim with sharks, so we start talking our fourth trip. No matter wherever we go in Tahiti, we will difinetely stay Fare-Suisse again on the way to or on the way back from other Tahitian islands. Thank you Beni for your hospitality in Papeete.
P.S. By the way, before we actually met Beni at the Airport, we imagined that he would be around 40 or 50s with dark skin and somewhat fat. Well this wasn't the case. He was fit (by jogging perhaps), lean, fair skin and very young. Am I right, Beni?
06.05.09 - The Imuras, Brisbane, Australia

We arrived in Tahiti in the early hours and were greeted at the airport by our host Beni. The airport transfers definitely made life easier getting to and from the airport. Upon our arrival at the accommodation we were given local advice on how best to enjoy and get around the island.  The accommodation is good, safe and inexpensive compared to Tahiti standards. We made the most of the city market place and supermarket that is just up the road. Throughout the trip Beni provided us with information, directions and local advice which made our stay even more enjoyable. Beni organised a round island trip that was very worth while. I definitely recommend the Fare as a place to stay and look forward to returning in the future.
18.04.09 - Taina and Nicholas from the Cooks Islands)

I cannot say enough good things about my stay at Fare Suisse. The location is quiet but in comfortable walking distance to the center of Papeete. Beni picked me up and dropped me off at both the airport and the ferry to Moorea. He was always friendly, gracious, and helpful and made me feel very at ease. The room was sparkling clean and the setting with the terrace is very relaxing- perfect for enjoying the delicious breakfast in the morning or having a quiet hour with a book. As a woman traveling alone, it was great to be in such a comfortable place and I enjoyed getting to meet and talk with the other guests who were staying there. Vastly better than any kind of hotel experience for the lone traveler, I would HIGHLY recommend Fare Suisse to any traveler, whether you're in Papeete for a day or a week. I would love to visit Papeete and French Polynesia again, and when I do, my visit will include another stay at Fare Suisse!
06.04.09 - Mary from the USA

The place were staying though is amazing. Tiny little hotel/hostel (it’s got one dorm room as well as a couple of double rooms). Called Fare Suisse, run by a Swiss guy. Such good service, amazing breakfast (got to pay for it but you can’t have everything). Non-international flights to Aitutaki have a 16kg weight limit so we had to do some serious backpack kulling. Ever since our first huge backpack sort out in Mexico where we got rid of about 14kg our bags have been about 25kg each so we still had some work to do! We were so greatful when Fare Suisse could keep our bags for the 3 weeks we’d be in the Cook Islands. Needless to say though, although my backpack was exactly 16kg my hand baggage was not far off that too! Hope nobody notices.
28.03.09 - Tim from the UK

Fare-Suisse will always be my (our) home away from home.
Centrally located, spotless, comfortable and (for women travelers) safe.
Beni was at the airport to greet me (us). He gave me (us) a quick tour ( kitchen, room etc).
I (We)immediately felt at home.
I (we) shopped  at the shopping centre five minutes away, ate  on the beautifully furnished veranda over looking Papeete.
A glass of cool Rosé made it all perfect.
23.03.09 - Olga from Canada

Brian and I had a wonderful stay with you at Fare Suisse and we have recommended your comfortable modern and clean pension to other travel magazines and websites already.   We would give you 9 out of 10 and felt you couldnt do enough for us.  Thanks again and hopefully we will see you again one day.
12.03.09 - Sue and Brian from Australia

Last year we planned a big trip round the world trip that included a stopover in Tahiti. When we found Fare Suisse on line we submitted a booking enquiry and were very happy to receive a prompt and positive response from Beni. We stayed at Fare Suisse from 7-10 December 2008 and the accommodation is indeed far better located than any of the big hotels. Everything was as claimed on the website — clean, comfortable, surprisingly tranquil, nice outdoor area and only a short walk from the town centre. It is also very close to a well stocked supermarket so we didn't need any transport while we were there. Beni was very helpful throughout our stay and took care of our transfers to and from the airport. Despite us leaving quite late at night we were not expected to vacate our rooms at some ridiculous early hour. We have no hesitation in recommending Fare Suisse to anyone planning a stopover in Papeete. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! A big thank you to Beni.
09.03.09 - Glyn, Lilly and Anya from Perth, Western Australia

We very much enjoyed our stay at Fare Suisse. The location and really absolutely clean, it is very close to Papeete downtown (5-10 min walks), especially comfortable is the proximity of a Champion supermarket. The airport shuttle worked perfectly and was always there in time, Fare Suisse offers help in all situations: whether one wants to rent equipment for surfing, rent a car, find some good and interesting places. The surroundings of Fare Suisse are lively but definitely not loud. It's an ideal place to stay when you are visiting Tahiti and Papeete.
05.03.09 - Heike and Juergen from Germany

When we planned our honeymoon we wanted to find a nice and cosy place for our last days in Tahiti. It took me a while to find the Fare Suisse website, but when I found it I was very happy because normally Suisse stands for quality. When we arrived in Papeete we got a lift from the airport to the Fare Suisse and check-in our rooms. We as Swiss guys really felt like at home. Swiss hospitality in a tropical environment. Breakfast on the veranda next to a Tiare Tahiti plant. Nice and cosy as we hoped it to be. If we hopefully ever come back to Tahiti we will book a room at Fare Suisse again! Thanks for the Suisse-Polynesian hospitality.
02.03.2009 - Patrick and Andrea from Switzerland.

We really enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse and the superb support by Beni. The price/value relation is excellent and if you are not only in Tahiti to go to the beach, but want to see the island and the town, this is the perfect adress to stay.
19.02.09 - Ursula and Heinz from Austria

What a wonderful start to our wonderful holiday in Tahiti!!! Beni gave us the Tahitian hospitality experience and what Tahiti has to offer. Beni picked us up at the airport.  In fact, without a second thought, he made two trips as there were  five of us and untold luggage – a true professional a true host. Fare Suisse is highly recommended to anyone who wants the perfect accommodation that is reasonably priced, close to the city with Tahiti’s natural  beauty at your doorstep.
19.02.09 - Pawel and Gerrard from New Zealand ‘Ka Pai’

"In a 10 month round the world trip, Fare Suisse was undoubtedly one of the nicest places we stayed.  A lovely place in a convenient location, with a great host - Beni - who went out of his way to make us feel at home.  If you come to Pape'ete, stay here!"
16.02.09 - Byron & Becca - Manchester, UK

My fourth visit to Tahiti was made more than pleasant by the friendly & helpful attention I received during my eight night stay. I was picked up on my arrival at the airport (even though it was after midnight) by Beni. Likewise when I left I was taken to the airport. As Beni said “Part of the Service” The rooms were very comfortable & clean. The breakfast, rolls, muesli, yogurt etc. was more than adequate. Beni was always there to answer any questions. Certainly Papeete & Tahiti is very different to my first visit—before the airport was built; when I arrived by ship & left by seaplane. I would  recommend Fare Suisse as THE Place to stay & would stay there myself on any future visits.
10.02.09 - Barry from New Zealand

Many thanks for the nice stay in fare suisse! The service was excellent – Beni picked me up from the airport and brought me again. The rooms and kitchen were very clean and I liked the terasse. The Citycenter and a Supermarket are few minutes away. I definitely would recommend fare suisse, when you are staying in Papeete. Thanks Beni for the nice time I had and I’m sending regards from switzerland!
14.01.09 - Lubi from Switzerland

I highly recommend staying at Fare Suisse! Beni was very accommodating and friendly. It was great to arrive in a foreign place and see a friendly face to guide us. The accommodation was fantastic, you won't find better value for money. We were in the shared accommodation, however did not see anyone else, it was like we had the place to ourselves. Beni went out of his way to make us comfortable during our stay. Following our stay at Fare Suisse we visited Moorea and Beni even picked us up from the ferry and dropped us at the airport on our way back through Papeete. I don't think our experience in Papeete would have been as great if we had stayed anywhere else. Thanks Beni!
10.01.09 Liz and Melinda SLOAN from Sydney, Australia.

I have stayed at Fare Suisse twice, once in 2007 and once in March of 2009. It's the only place I'll stay in Papeete - full of hospitality and with everything you need. Having a kitchen makes a big difference with the price of restaurant food in Tahiti, and the grocery store near by is fully stocked. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the garden is very nicely landscaped. Each time I've stayed here I've met interesting people that I'm still in touch with. It's a ten minute walk to the center of town and a ten minute walk to the Hilton where you can enjoy their beach, pool, and activities (I went diving there, I definitely recommend it). Finally, Beni is a fantastic host!
05.01.09 - Camille from Washington

We arrived Papeete in January 2009 to a warm & friendly welcoming smile & reception by Beni.  Travel to accommodation was superb – not far at all & very close to airport.  Accommodation was wonderful – clean, bright, quiet - & with a nice view from the outside lounge area.  Location was brilliant – within walking distance to the bustling city life of Papeete.  Hosts (Beni & please include your wife’s name) were lovely to talk to & very helpful.  Thank you Beni for your promptness when I first inquired on-line & for making our stay at Fare Suisse pleasant & enjoyable.  We would certainly stay there again & highly recommend Fare Suisse
02.01.09 - Taina from the Cooks Island

This place is a great value. If you do not want to be isolated in enormous hotel complexes outside Papeete, Fare Suisse is your choice. Compared to the airport hotel, in which I had to stay the first night, Fare Suisse has  reasonable prizes, too. Nice and beautiful house with private rooms has also dormitories for backpackers. As I travelled alone in April 2008 I booked a bed in a four bed dormitory, but finally was so lucky that could stay several nights alone. Voices, like roosters in the morning, were absolutely not noises but a part of the whole Tahitian atmosphere during the stay. The house is a walking distance from the city and there is one of the best supermarkets in the neighborhood. Beni, a Swiss guy runs the place and is very friendly. Because of difficult schedules of the planes, Beni picked me up from the airport himself. I wish him all the best and good luck in this private enterprise. My choice in Papeete is Fare Suisse, definitely.
11.12.08 - Heino Nyyssönen, Finland

Great, friendly owner
Outstanding knowledge of local attractions and transportation
Clean and modern facilities
Nice touches everywhere (i.e. Tiare flowers in the bathroom)
Excellent value
Close to the best of Papette
We loved it!!!
05.12.08 - Two Americans from Costa Rica

In Papeete for the job for about 10 days, I didn't want to be in a hotel: i prefer to be in the "real life" wherever i go.My chance was that a collegue of mine knew a good friend of Bennie: this person gave me the contact for Fare Suisse, and all was done in a few mails... What a chance to be in the heart of Papeete, in a really calm, quiet (except for the cocks!-)) and clean house. I'm really soory to forgot his name, but the women who was here all the morinings was really nice; the breackfasts are nice (and overall bananas!!!-) It's really a great place to rest, and all for a little price!
03.12.08 - Fabrice de France

Although we only stayed one night at Fare Suisse, Bene collected us from the airport, made us very wellcome in his most comfortable B & B then transported us, & our luggage, to our cruise ship the following day.Service such as this is most appreciated & rarely offered.
01.12.08 - Graham and Hilda from the UK

We had a great time - great hospitality from you and your wife. Nice spot. We appreciated the pick up at the dock and drop off at the airport. The internet connection for us was nice since we hadn't used it in 4 weeks.
29.11.08 - The Nobbles

We had such a great time in Tahiti and owe a lot of it to your hospitality! My wife Suzi and I loved our stay at Fare Suisse, dinner at the Carts, walking Papeete, the Gran Marche, Our stay and the week in Moorea is one trip I'll never forget!Thank you so much for the early morning ride to the Airport as I left for Auckland. It was so generous of you to see to it that I got to the Airport at such an early hour!
27.11.08 - Jim and Susan Dow - Newport Beach, California USA.

Not being keen on big hotels that Travel Agents encourage you to use, a quick search of the internet for accommodation in Pape'ete brought up Fare Suisse website, which seemed to be everything we were looking for. The accommodation , transport, location and friendliness exceeded our expectations. We would have no trouble in recommending Fare Suisse to our friends and we would certainly stay there again if we visit Tahitit.
25.10.08 - Gayle & Kevin CHRISTIE from Melbourne

We found Fare Suisse an incredibly handy place to stay on our recent visit to Tahiti and French Polynesia. Beni was absolutely fantastic. Our itinerary meant that as we travelled between islands, then moving on to spend a week in Easter Island, that we had three separate stays at Fare Suisse and each time we were met by Beni and farewelled by Beni. He was always punctual and very helpful. Fare-Suisse breakfasts were delicious... we could not fault our stay with Beni and his staff at Fare-Suisse; everything ran very smoothly. We look forward to returning one day to visit more of Tahiti and French Polynesia
10.10.08 - Janine and Nigel MILLER

Fare Suisse is situated in a quiet area with a scenic outlook and within walking distance of Papeete, supermarket, etc. The rooms and common areas are nicely furnished throughout, and the outdoor eating area is an unexpected bonus. Beni is a very helpful and discreet host who makes everyone feel welcome. I would certainly recommend Fare Suisse as good value for money and the place to stay in Tahiti
01.10.08 - David Sams from Australia

My boyfriend and I recently made our first trip to Tahiti. Our home is on Hawaii Island. After doing much research, we decided on Fare Suisse as our first stop and we were glad we did. Beni, the owner was there to greet us with a big smile and warm welcome when we arrived at the airport. Bright quilts, individual guestrooms and use of a kitchen was all apart of the experience He and his beautiful wife prepared a yummy breakfast on their lanai with fresh fruits, French bread, cheese , juice and coffee; all a part of their tropical, bright and sunny getaway nestled in the hills surrounded by colorful flora. Many places were very close within walking distance and we spent 1 full day with a great company Beni uses to tour the island . Beni was very knowledgeable as he helped us answer our questions throughout our stay, which even included a ride back to the airport for a 12:05 am flight. We have told many people now that we are back home just how charming our stay was at Fare-Suisse and we would not hesitate coming back. If you are looking for island charm with local living at a very decent price, this is the place!
22.09.08 - Robin and Eddie

We stayed at Fare Suisse Tahiti on a stopover from US to Australia. Our host, Beni, met us at the airport around 2 am - with a smile - despite our flight having been delayed. He was just as obliging when it was time for us to depart Tahiti late at night. Beni and his family made us feel very welcome at Fare Suisse and were happy to spend time chatting with us and the other guests. We were accommodated in the Tahiti room with a shared bathroom and everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. Whilst breakfast was available, we chose to use the self-catering facilities as a well-stocked supermarket was about two blocks away. Fare Suisse is ideally located to explore Papeete on foot - the waterfront, markets, main shopping area and other points of interest - and Beni was happy to also organise a guided tour around the island for us. We would highly recommend Fare Suisse and would be happy to stay again.
16.09.08 - Coralie and Bob from Australia

My stay with Faire Suisse was fantastic. The place was so clean and homely I felt really relaxed. I loved the comfy chairs and tables on the patio, I spent a whole day just reading on them! Even in the shared room the bunkbeds and separate bed are doubles which was lovely after being in a single for so long! I slept so well! The view to the harbour at night was beautiful too, especially with a beer in hand! Faire Suisse was a perfect location - far enough away from the centre to be peaceful, yet a 10minute walk when you wanted to visit the markets etc. 2 minute walk from the supermarket too. Service was perfect - Beni you are so helpful, even taking me to the beach for a day of sunbathing!! Tahiti itself was lovely, not as touristy as I had expected which was really nice. Very hot though!! Also, to be picked up from the airport too was really good. After a long flight and a young female travelling on my own, it was reassuring to know someone was waiting for you and Beni is so friendly it was even nicer. I would recommend Faire Suisse to anyone!
15.08.08 - Kate from the UK

There are many things to be thankful for.  I would consider landing in Tahiti, being picked up by Beni and staying at the Fare-Suisse to be on that list.  After a long flight, a smiling face to welcome you is refreshing, not to mention a free transport to the quaint pension - Fare- Suisse.  The accommodations were clean - the personnel was friendly and very helpful.  The breakfast was the best bargain on the island.  It was delightful to stay at the Fare-Suisse.  We stayed in both the sleeping room and the Bora Bora room - both were great.  The other nice thing was the location.  We were able to walk to the Pearl Museum and other points of interest in downtown Papeete.  I have stayed in many places around the world - but I will always remember the gracious host and the pension that made you feel like family - the Fare-Suisse.  Thanks Beni - we really enjoyed it!!!
10.08.08 - Val and Jim from San Francisco

26.06.08 - Heino Nyyssönen, Finland

"For us, Fare Suisse is the most genuine pearl of Tahiti. Tahiti is beautiful but after travelling thousands of miles to get there, it is a shock how expensive the islands are. Once you are there, the standard of accommodation is dire, which inevitably affects your Tahitian experience. Fare Suisse offers the best in accommodation, incredible customer service and an exceptional ´home away from home´ feel. We were very grateful to Beni for his hospitality and kindness. Beni & his wife are great Tahitian ambassadors. If you go to Tahiti, only ever consider staying at Fare Suisse. The rest of Tahiti should take note. Many, many thanks,
20.06.08 - Carey & Richard from the UK

My stay at fare suisse was unbelievable, the hospitality was great making my stay in tahiti enjoyable. The place itself is gorgeous hidden in the hills, close to the town centre and with a home like feeling. plus not to forget about the service i thought was unreal which makes it a bonus on your dream holiday at a place such as Tahiti. For anyone that wants to stay in Tahiti i highly recommend fare suisse just have a look at the photos of the place they speak for themselves
15.06.08 - Clinton from the USA

Fare Suisse-what a great find.  We needed a nice, but reasonable place to stay when we arrived in Papeete late at night.  After shopping the internet, we found Fare Suisse which appeared just what we needed.  The next problem is that the airline schedule had us arriving very late at night and we were not looking forward in paying the very high prices for a taxi to the lodging (even though it was close to the airport).  An email to Beni, owner of Fare Suisse, solved that problem very easily.  Beni offered to pick us up at the airport free of charge and bring us and another couple to Fare Suisse.  The rooms we found were very clean and well equipped.  It was like staying in an upgraded Pension in Europe.  Breakfast at the Fare Suisse is outstanding, but the people you meet are even grander.  We met two nice couples (one from Germany and the other from the US) and an interesting man from Missouri. What a visit--staying at Fare Suisse is truly international.  When ready to leave, we wanted to visit Papeete before  going to Moorea.  Beni dropped us in town and later brought our bags to the boat terminal, all free of charge. Beni is very customer oriented.  Fare Suisse is a great deal and fantastic place to stay.  You cannot go wrong.
12.06.08 - Rob and Debbie, Hawaii

I can highly recommend Fare Suisse as your home away from home next time you visit Papeete. The accommodation at Fare Suisse is lovely, it's absolutely spotless and close to all amenities. Most importantly for me as a solo traveller my stay included transport to and from Fare Suisse which tended to be at odd hours of the day. I was dropped off at the airport ridiculously early but Beni was still smiling!
10.06.08 - Barbara from Australia

We had a wonderful stay at Fare-Suisse and you attention was very much appreciated, from meeting us at the airport when we first arrived then subsequent arrival to taking us to meet our outbound flights made organisation of the trip easy. I would have liked more time in Tahiti, but that was my only complaint. Being within walking distance of the city centre and having a supermarket just down the hill made life easy, having a fully functional kitchen was great.
02.06.08 - Louise and Ray

We really enjoyed our stay at Fare Suisse, being picked up & dropped off at the airport was a bonus. The setting was lovely not to be surpassed by the scrumptious breakfast we were served on the verandah. We could easily have stayed longer there, and have thought of returning if ever the opportunity arises en route on another holiday. As we had been backpacking we really enjoyed the comfortable facilities on offer  at a reasonable price ,when all else in Papeete seemed beyond our means. The staff were considerate & Beni was very obliging. Thanks for your hospitality!
27.05.08 - Louise from Tasmania

Fare Suisse and Beni are just great. The free airport pickup and delivery is unbelievable. Beni also took us to the wharf to catch our cruise and was waiting there again when we got back. And the price of the accommodation can not be beaten. French Polynesia is VERY expensive but Fare Suisse is good value. Try finding anything else for this amount, and if you do remember to add on the horrific taxi charges. And, yes, there are rosters but this is just something you get on pacific islands. To avoid them go to a sterile resort out of town and pay three times as much. you aren't in Kansas now Dorothy!
25.05.08 - Jeff from Auckland

Our stay in Tahiti was made very comfortable by you meeting us at the airport and by being so attentive during our stay with you at Fare Suisse. It was also very good of you to take us back to the airport at such an early hour!!Your hotel facilities were exceptional and it gave us an opportunity to recover from our hectic excursions across the Pacific. We went on to New Zealand, Australia and China meeting many new people and enjoying accommodation of varying standards. Fare Suisse was one of the best. Thanks
15.05.08 - Malcolm from the UK

We stayed 10 days at Fare Suisee in early April 2008.. Beni is a wonderful, charming host who attended to all our needs beginning with a midnight pickup from the airport and returning us at 4 .am for our flight back to Sydney Our downstairs apartment was first class - only a year old. Beni also assisted us in giving us local information - car rentals' local beaches and access to buses. Fare Suisse is centrally located and the superbly stocked Champion Supermarket is  a 5 minute walk away. The communal area and kitchen are a great feature. It enabled us to cook our own meals which made our 10 day stay financially bearable.  But best of all was being able meet and make friends with fellow travellers 2 of whom we plan to visit.
Our stay at Fare Suisse has given us mny happy memories of Tahiti and a few new friends.
05.05.08 - Maria and Jac Rattley - Adelaide

We stayed in the suite on the ground floor at Fare Suisse both pre and post cruise on the Paul Gauguin. Beni met us at the airport and delivered us to and from the ship. Fare Suisse was spotlessly clean, comfortable and convenient. We were also able to walk into town, hire a car to drive around the island, park it overnight adjacent to our room then drop it off at the airport on departure. There is a supermarket less than 5 minutes away to stock up for breakfast or picnics or you can enjoy a pleasant European style breakfast on the Fare Suisse veranda. We found Fare Suisse excellent value and would definitely stay there again.
01.05.08 - John and Christine from the Blue Mountains Australia

I stayed at Fare Suisse on my way from the USA to New Zealand, and again on the way back.  If you are looking for a spotlessly clean place, far enough off the street to be quiet and peaceful, but close enough to walk easily to anywhere in Papeete, this is the place.  Beni is a delightful host, will meet your incoming flight, and return you to the airport for departure.  Full kitchen facilities mean you don't have to eat out unless you want to, and there's a supermarket only a block away.  Whether you are staying for a day or a week, this is probably the best value for money in Papeete.  If I ever get back to Papeete, this is where I'll stay.  Five stars for cleanliness, convenience and affordability.
25.04.08 - Jack from Florida

Fare Suisse was the perfect bed and breakfast for us in Papeete. The location was beautiful and the room was comfortable, large and clean. We had a great breakfast on the terrace overlooking the ocean and Morea. We took a wonderful walk into town to enjoy the fantastic public market. Best of all, Beni picked us up at the airport, even though our plane was late and we didn't arrive until almost midnight. This is the perfect place to stay if you need to spend a night in Papeete on route to another island. It would also be a great base for exploring this island. Great price, great room and great location - hard to beat that.
20.04.08 - Mike and Karen from the USA

A home away from home, with just a few minutes walk to the center of town. The absolutely friendly and helpfull owner offers clean and comfortable accomodation in a warm, friendly and lovely environement. If you are looking for a accommodation with swiss premium quality and for a good price, stay at Fare Suisse. You won't regret. I enjoyed my stay there.
05.04.08 - Caroline from Switzerland

Beni was the perfect host: friendly, efficient and obliging. He even collected us from our ferry and delivered us to the airport at the end of our stay. Fare Suisse is homely, comfortable and ideally located, convenient to Papeete centre and all buses. Highly recommended.
01.04.08 - John from Australia

I had a quick stopover in Tahiti on my way back to Australia I needed somewhere central to the city and found Fare Suisse. It was such a wonderful find.  Beni picked me up at the airport and drove me back to the guest house.  It is a beautiful 2 storey home set in a tropical garden.  My room was large and comfortable.  The house is fully equipped with everything a traveller needs.
It didn't take me long to walk to the heart of the city.  On the way home I stopped at the local supermarket and walked on block back to the house. I left in the middle of the night but it was no problem for my hosts to take me back to the airport. Definitely good value and a great location.  Highly recommended.
28.03.08 - Janet from the USA

A word of thanks from myself, Wife and Daughter for our most enjoyable stay at Fare Suisse, your hospitality and excellent accommodation were highlighted by your willingness even to collect and deliver us to the airport. As you know our stay in Papeete and Mo'orea were near the end of a 6month round the world holiday taking in Thailand, Europe, and North America and while Tahiti is generally expensive of the three places we stayed in your Islands Fare Suisse was the least expensive and best of all accommodation.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Fare Suisse to my friends here in Fiji or anyone else visiting Tahiti. We also have acommodation here in Fiji and would be delighted if you wish to visit us with your lovely wife sometime.
15.03.08 - Brian, Va and Emma Morgan from the Fiji

We 2 old Australians, cannot speak highly enough of Ben & our stay at Fare suisse.Ben was the key - utterly reliable, meeting us at the airport & in his dealings- in whatever challenge we set him. Accommodation first class, very central to city.Fare suisse and Ben made our stay in Tahiti a pleasant & memorable time.Thank you Ben.
10.03.08 - Noel & Maree from Australia

With much pleasure I am thinking of my stay in Fare Suisse. Everything was perfect. You were awaiting me at the airport, gave me a good and cheap adress for renting a car. The rooms are good and the breakfest service was perfect, with the tiare flower on the table. I hope to be able to come back some other time and I sure will contact you.
27.02.08 - Henk from the Netherlands

We loved staying with you too. Moorea was fantastic. We are definately coming back are will stay with you for longer. Great service and pick up a very clean and tidy property very enjoyable.  I wish we had more nights there.Thankyou for your hospitality and welcoming us at your home.
15.02.08 - Dawn and Steve

We were delighted with our short stay in Fare Suisse. You made us feel very welcome, great accomodation and fantastic personal service with transfers to and from the airport. Enjoyed Papette - particularly the open air food market in the evening - great atmosphere! We will certainly be back! Very many thanks
10.02.08 - Eileen and Terry - Whitstable, England.

My wife and I decided to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary in Tahiti, leaving our three boys behind with their grand-parents :)). I searched high and low to find reasonably priced accommodation close to Papeete's amenities and shops. After much comparing and exchange rate converting, my efforts were rewarded in finding Fare Suisse. It kind of stood out from the rest when comparing value for money, presentation and quality. An email dialogue commenced with Ben requesting a room and seven days accommodation. All transactions was completed with ease and promptly. After an overnight flight, we landed in Tahiti greeted not only by humid temperatures but Ben as well (along with unexpected friend's of friends). I asked Ben if our new found friends could come visit us at Fare Suisse, he mentioned he had already given directions. So, was the start to our vacation in Tahiti. Having stayed in Fare Suisse seven days before moving to Moorea, I can indeed say that all amenities are within walking distance, which definitely prevents one from having to drive in the mayhem traffic (Although there is good off-street secure parking next to the house for the keen driver). With a communal atmosphere and people coming and going it was great to meet and farewell people from distant parts of the globe on an informal basis. Ben is highly helpful and always interested in your welfare, offering alternatives and solutions to your every need. Do not be afraid to ask. We are planning another Tahiti vacation in 2009, unfortunately this time with the kids. So, guess where we will be staying in Papeete?
01.02.08 - Andrew and Desiree, New Zealand

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Fare Suisse very much. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and very nicely decorated. The cozy and warm atmosphere made us feel right at home; the kitchen was nice and well equipped. But the best part of our stay was Beni, the owner. His service was excellent--he not only picked us up at the airport right on time, but he also waited patiently with us when we discovered our luggage was lost. We would definitely recommend the Fare Suisse to other travellers. It was a great value and a terrific place to stay.
15.01.08 - Chia-su and Margret Chen - Hongkong

We loved staying at your guesthouse: Fare Suisse has a great atmosphere - comfortable, spacious, clean, and modern. Like staying at a cool friend's house. My husband and I took a room with a shared bathroom - something we never do - but we we're very pleased with the whole experience. Beni is a fine host. He provides a reliable and valuable service to guests by driving them to and from the airport or ship port. A great place to stay.
10.01.08 - Susan from Switzerland

We stayed for little more than a week at Fare Suisse in Papeete in November 2007, and it was just perfect. Beni and his people were extremely helpful with transports, infos, and everything else we needed, and for us travelling with kids it was very pleasant to have a kitchen and a place to sit and relax (and a machine to wash our clothes :-). The guesthouse is close enough to the city center, but still in a quiet neighborhood - restaurants, supermarket, and a library are within easy walking distance. Thanks Beni!
16.12.07 - Phil, Silja & kids from Switzerland

We spent one night last October at Fare Suisse. I could not believe all the reviews but it is true; this place is a steel and Beni is the perfect host! The location is close to everything, quiet and in a beautiful setting. The rooms are clean and comfortable as well as the commune areas.  Beni is a very reliable and friendly host and we hope we will be able to visit again soon.
13.12.07 - Daniel and Anne-Marie from Canada

The fair Suisse was an EXCELLENT place to stay; Beni was very accommodating in every way possible from the initial arrival at the airport to pointing out local attractions and ensuring that we were back at the airport in time to make our flights back out of Tahiti. The conditions at the Fare Suisse were excellent, clean in good condition and adequate. I would defiantly stay again, Thank you for making my fist time in Tahiti AMAZING
05.12.07 - Kelly from Australia

In such an expensive country it is refreshing to find a pension owned by people who realise that they can run a successful business based on reputation of good service and hospitality, rather than relying on high room rates. From the moment you are met at the airport you know what 'hospitality service' really means. Don't go away Beni - because we want to come back.
30.11.07 - Isobe and Dave

We stayed at Fare Suisse in October 2007 for 10 nights. Before we arrived, we had read lots of really good reviews about Fare Suisse and we were not disappointed! Beni met us at the airport with a big smile even though it was late and made us feel incredibly welcome. While we were at fare Suisse it was our birthday (yes, both of us on the same day). We had a lovely surprise because my mother had been in touch with Beni and he had arranged a birthday basket of Tahitian goodies and left it outside our room with some beautiful Tahitian flowers. We all celebrated that night with some rum. We would recommend Fare Suisse to anyone, you will really enjoy it.
25.11.07 - Tracy and Gary from the UK

Finding high quality, reasonably priced accommodation in Papeete is difficult, Fare Suisse, however, proves to be the exception to the rule. It’s in a quiet area within easy walking distance of central Papeete.  Our rooms were spacious and immaculately clean.  The lounge and kitchen were great, just like home, and Beni provided a marvelous breakfast served on the terrace. However, perhaps the greatest assets of Fare Suisse are its owners Beni and his wife. They go out of their way to look after you. I could not recommend Fare Suisse highly enough, a real treat for travelers.
20.11.07 - Dr James Friedrich from the UK

Thank you very much for your warm welkom, at our arrival this year at Papeete airport very early in the morning. Fare Suisse made us feel at home after a long journey and we were happy to stay again one night before leaving the beautiful world of French Polynesia. You are a wonderful and helpful host and your traveladvises were of great value to us during our travels at the islands.  Since we still haven't seen nothing yet, especially Tahiti, we really hope to return and to stay again in Fare Suisse. 'Till then we wish you all the best. Maururu Roa!
18.11.07 - Mark, Monique, Kevin, Lara from the Netherlands

However we certainly enjoyed staying in your Pension. Perfect location close to the downtown,  airport and free transfer to boot. We got the same treatment in Raiatea but when we returned to Papeete, Pension de la Plage stuck us with 4000 charge for the transport even though the email said that they will just pick us up (just like you and  Patrik from Kaoha Niu on Raiatea). Anyways Pension Suisse was perfect, having a bedroom with sitting room and kitchen is a great value for what you charge. I am not sure I will ever make it back to Tahiti but if I do, rest assured I will be booking a room in your pension.
15.11.07 - Vlad from Czech Repuplic

We had a lovely time in Tahiti. Your Fare Suisse is very central to Papaeeti, clean, nicely appointed and has a good communal kitchen, lounge and outdoor dining area. You were very friendly and most obliging in collecting and taking us to the airport at very early hours of the morning. You even drove us to the Raddisson Resort  - the stopover hotel deal we got from Air Tahiti Nui - and collected us for another night at Fare Suisse. We also met very friendly people staying at the Fare Suisse, while sharing the kitchen and lounge areas. We will recommend your Fare to our friends.
15.11.07 - Rosemary & Ross from NZ

Only one stay we ourselves reserved in advance by e-mail was in your pension FARE  SUISSE in Papeete on the Tahiti island. During our stay there we arrange everything for our further travelling  around islands. We were very happy there because we really spent  there the best time of our travelling. Accommodation in this beautyful pension was very comfortable with the sitting room and open dinning hall. Ofcourse the pension contains nice bathroom with hot / cold water and kitchen where we prepared our breakfasts and dinners. We felt there very satisfied like at home. The nice atmosphere and good image of this pension is given by the persons of the owners, by Beni and his wife.
They arranged everything what we needed including transport from the airport and back. Concerning to the price of accommodation when we compare the quality and perfect service with other cases is very pleasant. I am describing our feeling from our stay in your FARE  SUISSE, to express additionally many thanks to you for your hospitality and satisfaction of your gests.
01.11.07 - Lubomir Subert from Czech Repuplic

Fare Suisse is a marvellous place to stay in Papeete. Beni and Therese are wonderful hosts - very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is really comfortable and spotlessly clean, and is within easy walking distance of all the main tourist sights of the city, as well as a supermarket and other shops. We would recommend Fare Suisse for any traveller who is looking for a place to stay in Papeete, and we'll certainly be returning there when we next visit
28.09.07 - Gordon and Erica from Australia

We stayed at Fare Suisse for only one night, however the accomodation made a lasting impression on us. Beni, the owner, went out of his way to help us settle in - picking us up at the airport on arrival, driving us to and from the ferry, letting us use the lounge on our departure day and driving us to the airport for our departure. The accomdation itself was immaculate - clean, bright, and cosy - and dinner on the patio overlooking the city was great! With the hostel being so close to the city centre we were able to walk everywhere (important in walking off the large "Roulottes" dinner!) For travellers accustomed to run-of-the-mill hostels, Fare Suisse was definitely a treat!
15.09.07 - Chris from the UK

We enjoyed to stay in Tahiti. For us Fare Suisse was a good place to stay for 2 nights to prepare our visit to Moorea. Beni moved us to the ferry and when we came back he picked us up so we could wait in his guesthouse for our next plane in the middle of the night. Fare Suisse has a lot of space, is very clean, good bathroom, enough facilities to prepare food (the supermarket close by, also the centre of town for a restaurant). Fare Suisse is located in a quiet neighborhood. We and our kids of 7,9 and 11years  enjoyed the stay in Fare Suisse.
04.09.07 - Family Lemoine from the Netherlands

On arrival in Tahiti we were welcomed by our smiling host, Beni, outside the airport terminal and  promptly driven to our delightful bed and breakfast. The Fare Suisse is in a safe and secluded, leafy location, well appointed, immaculately kept and our bedroom was airy and spacious with a neat and clean bathroom next door. The house is welcoming and comfortably furnished with a well stocked kitchen, a lovely outdoor dining area and comfortable chairs in the open plan lounge . Although the home is only ten minutes walk from the Papeete market and main shopping area, it is in a quiet street away from the tourist hustle and bustle and has a very calm and restful feel about it. Beni went out of his way  to ensure that our visit was comfortable and was a mine of information on local sights, maps, currencies and tours. Transport to our cruise boat was included in the price of the overnight stay and we were astonished at the good value and service provided after having heard horror stories from our Australian travel agent about guests staying in B&Bs in Tahiti!  I would recommend this guest house to travellers of all ages. There are some lovely rooms with ensuites for the young honeymooners and our room with two double beds was ideal for two retired ladies or other singles. We appreciated the fact that Beni was not only helpful but completely reliable and efficient in all aspects of our booking and stay.
28.08.07 - Vreni from Australia

We stayed at Fare Suisse in May 2007. Beni picked us from the airport with a warm welcome. The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable with a relaxing Tahitian theme. Fare Suisse was in a perfect location for a first time visit to Papeete as the city was only a 10 minute walk away. It was ideal compared to some of the accommodation downtown which seemed  a lot noiser. There was also a supermarket close by, very handy for eating in. Beni was very helpful in answering any questions we had about Tahiti and was happy to help. We will definitely be returning to Tahiti and most definitely will be booking into Fare Suisse.
05.07.07 - Simone from the UK

I thoroughly ejnoyed my stay at Fare Suisse and secpecially the service from Beni the host. He was friendly, efficient and prompt from picking me up at the airport to serving breakfast. Fare Suisse was well located to the town centre, clean bright and quiet. I highly recommend Fare Suisse and would definitely stay here again.

I had a great stay at the Fare-Suisse. It exceeded my expectations as the price was so reasonable! It was very clean and tidy and located perfectly for the town and airport. The free airport pick-ups and drop-offs were perfect for me too as I was coming and going to the other islands, very handy. Thank you so much I will definitely recommend you to friends.

My short stay at Fare Suisse was a pleasure. The location is great & set in nice surroundings, quiet & secure. The hostel was really pleasant & very clean. Thanks so much for your hospitality during my stay - you really made my life very easy bringing me to and from the airport! I suppose as far as a statement goes I could say "I've travelled through Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand this year and Le Fairre Suisse is by far and away the best place I've stayed - highly recommended"
Really your place is lovely and I wish I came accross more like it!

Thank you very, very much for having us. We enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was excellent!!!!! And this was within our budget too. I hope that more and more people are aware of this very special place. Rooms were very clean. Your hospitality was exceptional. It was close to the CBD. A stones throw to other islands. I would defiantly stay again. After being in Los Angeles amongst the kaos, it was a way to kick your feet up and totally relax. The ambiance of the place made you feel like you were defiantly on a tropical island with palm trees filled with coconuts, kids loved it. Once again, thank you!!! You were a true host.

16.06.07 - Ira from New Zealand

Fare-Suisse is just the best hostal i never seen ever: super clean, a great location, great rooms, with a lot of space, a kind and very friendly service, free airport pick up service, tourist information... Without any dude, fare suisse it was very important for made my tahitian vacation one of the best of my live. Greetings, and thanks for all
15.06.07 - Enrique from Chile

We were especially delighted to visit Tahiti, which turned out to be of the most beautiful places we have ever been to. The landscapes seem like taken straight from Gaugin’s paintings. The blossoming, tropical flora takes the breath away and the people are friendly and happy. And of course your fantastic guesthouse and its friendly atmosphere. This is a perfect combination ! Not only for a European, we guess. The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean, simple yet stylish, the bed linen fragrant… it all made the guesthouse a perfect place to recuperate from the weariness after the long journey. The conditions exceeded our expectations. You are like a good Swiss watch that you can rely on. You were extremely helpful as a responsible host and we felt safe and full well. Being your guests, we could carelessly devote ourselves to enjoying Tahiti.
Therefore it is our great pleasure to strongly recommend your guesthouse to everybody who has yet not made their Tahiti dream come true. Thank you for all !
16.06.07 - Kalina & Leslaw Zabuski

Fare-Suisse was one of the most pleasant, clean hostels I have stayed in while traveling.  The place was always tidy and it was located within walking distance of downtown Papeete and a supermarket.  We were always greeted with a warm smile and even escorted to and from the airport by the owner.  I highly recommend Fare-Suisse if your looking for a smaller, hostel with a friendly atmosphere
10.06.07 - Nate from the USA

30.05.07 - Alessandro from Australia

My family and I stayed at Fare Suisse for 1 night and found it to be a clean and comfortable accommodation with affordable prices. We arrived very early in the morning but this was no problem-we were met at the airport and taken to the guest house for free where we were allowed into our room straight away-a big plus when travelling with two small children ! Beni, the owner was very friendly and helpful-providing info and free maps etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
15.05.07 - John from the UK

After spending just one night at the Fare Suisse I have to say: it is located just a couple of minutes from the city centre but out of noise and traffic. The location is gorgeous and peaceful, the house set in a luxurious tropical garden with a nice view on the surrounding. It is the right place just to chill out. Rooms are clean, brand new and quite, and Ben has been great to pick us up and drop us off at the airport at 5 a.m. Thanks Ben.
05.05.07 - Emanuele from Italy

Rob and I have travelled the world and found your accommodation in Papeete a lovely breath of fresh air. Not only did you supply good quality accommodation at a reasonable price but you went out of your way to accommodate our requirements and help us out with storing our ski luggage. If we pass thru your part of the world again we will definitely look you up.
25.04.07 - Lindy and Rob from Australia

Great place to stay and meet people. Modern appartment within walking distance of Papeete town centre and very convenient for a large supermarket and atm. All rooms nicely furnished and cleaned to a high standard, good kitchen, bathroom and plenty of seating. Located in a nice quiet secure lane with attractive views. A great place to start exploring the Island or to catch the ferry over to Moorea. Excellent host, we look forward to returning soon.
20.04.07 - Andy and Penny from the UK

My cousin Karlie & I stayed at the Fare Suisse for 3 nights, which wasn't nearly long enough. A beautiful and unique part of the world, you'll be embraced by the creation of a relaxing, friendly atmosphere to call home for a few days. We loved the fact that the Host of Fare Suisse, Beni picked us up and dropped us off at the airport while showing us around Papeete at the same time, in such a friendly and professional manner. Great location, easy walking distance to the centre of town and amenities. Clean and comfortable at an affordable price (which can be hard to find in Tahiti!), I would recommend this accommodation to anyone travelling to Tahiti. Our flight out wasn't till 8pm but were told we were welcome to leave our bags in the lounge for the day and freshen up in the bathroom before our flight, no charge, which was much appreciated after being out and about all day with a 12 hour flight ahead of you. I've stayed in numerous levels of hostels, but the Fare Suisse is in a league of its own!
10.04.07 - Lisa from Cairns, Australia

Having visited Papeete several times before, and stay in supposedly 3star accommodation at rates much higher than Fare-Suisse, your pension was a huge breath of freshair.  Lovely and clean, bright and airy, cool and welcoming, spacious rooms, great facilities, the outdoor sitting area, convenient location, safe - and of course the "perfect host".  The pickup from the "Aranui3" and transfers to the airport was a wonderful bonus and your helpfulness was greatly appreciated. No hesitation what so ever in reccommending this wonderful home away from home.
14.04.07 - Joe and Wayne from the Norfolk Island - South West Pacific.

I had a very positive experience during my stay at Fare Suisse's suite "Bora Bora" in February 2006. Its central location makes it easy to explore downtown Papeete by foot. Boasting a tasteful interior design, the spacious room was clean and fresh. The pure size of the suite gave a sense of privacy, which is rare for places in this affordable price category. Enjoying breakfast on the private terrace in the morning sun is an amazingly relaxing experience. Also, being picked up and dropped off at the airport by the owner was a big plus. The multi-lingual European owner gave a serious and professional impression, making me feel totally comfortable recommending this accommodation to anyone visiting Tahiti.
10.04.07 - Knut from Canada

Your pension was one of the highlights during our round-the-world-trip in terms of friendly and reliable service, comfort and cleanliness. It was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the self-cooked dinner on your terasse. If we come back to Tahiti we will love to stay at your place again!
25.03.07 - Yvonne and Wolfgang from Germany

I stayed at Fare Suisse for only one night on my way home to NZ via Tahiti, but I was very lucky that I found such a great place. Beni picked me up from the airport on my arrival in the middle of the night (I didn't think he would actually agree to pick me up for free at that time, but sure enough, he was there). It was great to be able to speak in English to someone as it was taking me a while to remember my schoolgirl French, especially after speaking Spanish for 3 months. On arrival I found that the hostel is actually a modern, open-plan house in a nice part of town with what can only be described as a luxury bathroom. The kitchen looked great too, although I didn't use it.
And clean sheets on all the beds with little personal soaps and a basket of towels to use!
Without me asking, Beni offered to let me stay the next night for free as well and use the showers and beds, until my flight out at 3 am. A far better option than staying in the airport all night! He then provided maps, ferry timetables and information, and trustingly gave me the remote for the big security gates at the front of the house. The next day, following Beni's directions, I spent a lazy day on Moorea before heading back late to the hostel for a nap, where Beni provided a wake-up call and dropped me off to the airport at midnight.
Fare Suisse is well within walking distance of the city centre, ferries and markets.  I'd definitely recommend this hostel for its warm atmosphere and especially, the kind and generous owner - there should be more hostels like this!
01.04.07 - Renee from NZ

I still have fond memories of my stay at the FARE SUISSE. Apart from the good price, the location was perfect: within walking distance of the center of town, close to the airport,in a peaceful setting. the accomodations were spacious and clean. Also you were very helpful with information etc.I look forward to my next visit, and have been recommending your place to friends.
04.04.07 - René from USA

Extraordinary helpful and friendly owners, free shuttle service from/to airport (even in the middle of the night!!!!), loads of good information, baggage-service, check-out-times are not strict as log there aren't new guests, possibility to stay the whole day in the commune rooms when the flight leaves at night, and... and... and...
22.03.07 - Heike from Germany

The owners were really friendly. My flight was delayed until 3am in the morning, and when it landed they were waiting cheerfully at the airport to take me to the hostel. I also liked that both the husband and wife came to pick me up, and that the car had their advertising on it, travelling as a single woman, this made me feel very safe in going with them, unlike some places where you are picked up by a man on his own with no proof of identitiy.
15.03.07 - Laura from the UK

The owner is a very nice guy from Switzerland who does everything to make you feel comfortable. And you really do! He offers a complimentary pick-up / drop-off service and he doesn't care if that means he has to bring you to the airport at 5:00 in the morning or at midnight! He's a real nice guy and the stay is definitely worth the money! Highly recommended!!!
25.02.07 - Cordian from Germany

Hi from Delaware, USA.  I wanted to email you and tell you that you are a wonderful host.  From the moment I arrived at FAA and you picked me up as promised I felt completely taken care of.  Your accomodations were just right.
For a single traveler that has only stayed at hotels or resorts this was a huge step and quite honestly very scary but you made it a Tahiti-an breeze.  I felt safe and welcome and met some really nice people.  When going to Moorea and you recommended a place to stay I had no doubt it would be nice and sure enough it was everything I dreamed it would be. Keeping part of my luggage at your place til I got back was another plus I did not expect but much appreciated.  After my stay on Moorea was complete and you picked me up at the ferry again I was much less stressed in not having to worry with a taxi etc.  I can't thank you enough for making my journey to French Polynesia as easy and as rewarding as you did.  I will recommend the Fare-Suisse to all of my friends and family and on the internet on trip advisor.  Thank you and take care.
05.02.07 - Cindy, USA

Fare Suisse was a fantastic place to stay. The grounds are beautiful, the apartment was light and airy and the Fare's proximity to the city made exploring the capital really easy. Beni is a friendly host whose willingness to transport you to and from the airport makes your stay welcoming from start to finish. I would highly recommend Tahiti and I would highly recommend staying with Beni at Fare Suisse.
02.02.07 - Peter, Ireland

Thank you very much for your hospitality at Fare Suisse, you made us feel very welcome and the transfers from the airport and to the harbour were very much appreciated (and saved us some expensive taxi fares).  We found Fare Suisse to be clean and comfortable, our room was spacious and tastefully decorated and the common area is perfect for self-caterers.  The location is perfect, just ten minutes easy walk from down town Papeete, but still quiet and relaxing.  It was all much more than we had expected from such a reasonably priced pension. Thanks Beni for your directions and tips on the local area.
We had a wonderful time there and are just sorry it was so short.
01.02.07 - Becky and John, Channel Islands

I really enjoyed my 2 night stay at Fare Suisse last January. Having arrived in the early hours of the morning it was great to see Beni waiting to bring me to the guesthouse - saved on the taxi expense.  Beni made me feel really welcome and was more than helpful giving advice about where to go and how to get there. The guesthouse is more like a Spanish villa and while it is out of the hustle and bustle of town life it is within walking distance of all amenities and the ferry.  Don't expect to pay US$10 or less for accommodation in Tahiti, its not a cheap place, but Fare Suisse offers good value for visitors.
I wish Beni every success with his venture and would recommend Fare Suisse as a place to stay for friends.
31.01.07 - Clint, Ireland

We spent a few nights at Fare Suisse to break our journey from Mexico to New Zealand.  I couldn't believe that the management would actually meet us at the airport when we arrived at 1:00 in the morning, but lo and behold there was Beni, smiling and welcoming us to Tahiti.  We were so happy to see the clean and comfortable room he introduced us to at Fare Suisse.  We found the guest house's common area spacious and well equipped for self-caterers and the garden to be tranquil and relaxing with tropical plants in abundance.  Breakfast was delicious and satisfying – the coffee was great and the fruit platter was a meal in itself.  Beni knows a lot of out of the way places that you wouldn't find if you were driving yourself, so when he dropped us off at the airport for our 3:00 a.m. flight to Auckland, we felt well rested and a lot more knowledgeable about Tahiti.  We look forward to our next visit to Fare Suisse.
25.01.07 - Julika and Denis Bond from Mexico

I stayed 4 nights in the 3-bed-dorm, after getting picked up at night from the airport by the helpful and kind host Beni. I met nice people, we enjoyed Tahiti and Moorea, the terrace, common kitchen and living room of the Fare Suisse and the friendliness of Beni and Theresa. The terrace with the large table I liked most, hanging around, enjoying the tropic atmosphere, reading, meeting people, having good talks and dinner together, all the things, which make travelling places special. Fare Suisse is an excellent place to stay in Papeete, it is very clean and very central (harbour, city-centre, supermarket within walking distance). Overall rating: 11 of 10 points. Beni, I hope you keep your enthusiasm. Thank you and Theresa for a real good time on Tahiti.
20.01.07 - Thomas from Zurich

On an island full of expensive resorts it was great to find Fare Suisse. For a reasonable price I got a great room with a massive ensuite bathroom. It is small and friendly and I met some great other guests who I'm still in touch with. Beni was really helpful with advice and went out of his way to help me and a friend get to the airport. I'll recommend it to anyone going to Papeete as a stepping stone to the islands.
17.01.07 - Sam from Australia

I am more than pleased to endorse your hospitality at Fare Suisse and the convenience of the location close to central papeete but calm and blessed with a pleasant breeze to keep us cool at night. The certainty that guests have that you will be at the port or airport to meet them whatever the time of night or day gives absolute confidence that we will not be stranded with nowhere to sleep!! I hope that you continue to do well and that i may have the chance to return one day.
15.01.07 - Roger from France

Just a quick note to thank you again for your great hospitality. We both thouroughly enjoyed our all too short stay at Fare Suisse - a home away from home. Clean, spacious and beautifully decorated suite, amazing breakfast and the luxury of airport transfers made our stay a breeze. Keep up the great work and you will be overrun by visitors pretty quickly. Good luck and we will be back. All the best.
10.01.07 - Doris & Urs Blum, New Zealand

Fare Suisse is the ultimate accommodation in Papeete, Tahiti at the lowest price. I can’t overemphasize the quality of hospitality. Fare Suisse brought kindness with flair to my travels. I was welcomed by Beni, the hostel manager, at the airport. He picks-up every guest with a warm Tahitian welcome. I was well-informed and made to feel at home right away. Beni gladly helped me with any questions I had and offered his genuine advice. The pension itself is beautiful and immaculately maintained. Fare Suisse provided all the luxuries of home. It is in an excellent location of the Capital.
Fare Suisse definitely surpassed my expectations. I would make it a point to return. Thanks Beni
05.01.07 - Jennifer from the UK

A beautifully and centrally located pension, and Beni is the best host possible. I stayed at Fare Suisse for 4 nights at the end of 2006. On New years eve we had a wonderfull typical Tahitian dinner, with all guests and Beni and his girl-friend. A place to remember!
29.12.06 - Jeroen, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

"We’ve all heard how expensive things are in French Polynesia, so the opening of a new budget hotel in Papeete is always welcome. Fare Suisse has only been accepting guests since September, 2006, but it’s already a winner. The location is very central, off rue Venus, just up from Rue des poilus tahitiens, three blocks inland from Papeete Harbor. Basically, it’s up the hill from Champion Supermarket on rue du Commandant Destremeau. However, you don’t really need to know that because Beni, Fare Suisse’s friendly manager, will collect you from Faaa International Airport at no additional charge provided you book ahead through his website. The four rooms at Fare Suisse start at 75 euros double, which works out to around 9,000 Pacific francs or a bit under US$100 a night. That may sound like a lot if you’re coming from Fiji or Rarotonga, but hey, we already knew Tahiti wasn’t cheap and CFP 9,000 a night is pretty good for tourist accommodations in downtown Papeete. If you’re willing to share your room with other travelers, the price drops to 40 euros per person per night. In case you don’t get a chance to book online, Beni asks that you call ahead because Quartier Buillard (where Fare Suisse is located) is a gated community and you’ll need to know the security code to enter."
22.12.06 - David Stanley, Editor of South Pacific Travel Book

Great place to stay in a great location. Comfortable rooms with a lovely common kitchen and living room area. The patio was very tropical with beautiful flowers and plants. Town center is very close and an easy walk. Our gracious host, Beni, was very kind in picking us up from the airport at 1:00 a.m. and driving us back to the airport days later for our return flight. He even gave us a lift to the ferry terminal in town for our trip to Moorea. Now that's excellent service. Beni provided lots of information and was extremely helpful. He made flying in and out of Papeete a real breeze.
15.12.06 - Mike from USA

I stayed at Fare Suisse for a couple nights with my boyfriend. We were really unfamiliar with Papeete, Tahiti, but the fare was very helpful in getting us around. We were picked up from and dropped off at the airport and boat docks. And the fare owner was very informative. We were within walking distance to everything, but still far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Also, the fare was very clean and comfortable. In two days, we met numerous other travelers and shared stories. We had a great stay! Thanks again!
12.12.06 - Rachel from USA

I am an older traveller who travels abroad about 3 times a year and it was my good fortune to need accommodation in Papeete in October 2006.Because I was on my own, I was looking for moderately-priced accommodation and did not mind sharing. I found Fare Suisse on the internet, liked the photos posted there and the description of the accommodation, and I received a prompt reply confirming my booking. Although I arrived at 1.15 am I was greeted by Beni, the host of Fare Suisse, and it was very pleasing to realise that he spoke excellent English and I did not have to put my school French to work after a 4-hour flight. The pension was exactly as the photos showed but even more comfortable and travellers staying there had the run of the house upstairs which includes a wonderful terrace with large dining table around which many hours can be spent in the company of other travellers, looking out over the city.  Whatever foods etc that guests want can also be provided on request. The pension is also very well situated being only one block from a large supermarket, two blocks from the harbour and three blocks from the market.  I would recommend Fare Suisse to anyone wanting to stay one night or one week and certainly our host, Beni, goes out of his way to provide excellent service in ferrying guests to their next destination.
16.11.06 - Jenny Nathan from Auckland, New Zealand

I really enjoyed my stay at Fare Suisse. The manager was exceedingly kind and helpful, and the building was very comfortable. I highly recommend Fare Suisse to all my friends.
11.11.06 - Jake from Tokio

Great place to stay, clean and spacious room and within easy distance of Papette city centre. The free pick up from the airport and drop off at the ferry were most appreciated
08.11.06 - Emily from the UK

We enjoyed our stay at Fare Suisse it was very clean, bright and quiet which is perfect for a holiday.  The location was great as it is less than 5 minutes walk to the town centre and harbour.
Over all it was a very good price and Beni was very helpful.
05.11.06 - Crystal from the UK

My friend and I have just spent 3 nights in the lovely Fare Suisse. We were welcomed by Beni at the airport who offers free pick up no matter what time of day, something which is so kind when Tahitian prices are so expensive! The pension is beautiful, extremely clean with very modern interior, as well as a lovely outdoor area for eating, drinking or simply relaxing. The enjoyment of our stay would not have been complete without Beni who humbled us with his kindness - without his help in organising stays in other parts French Polynesia we wouldn't have had such a fantastic week. Overall rating - 10/10! Thank you Beni for being such a great host at your cosy pension! We miss Fare Suisse and Tahiti already and hope to meet again soon!
17.10.06 - Sara and Sara from Wales, UK

We enjoyed our stay in Tahiti very much and were particularly pleased with our stay in Fare Suisse.  Having you meet us at the airport and teach us a few words of French and Tahitian on the drive into town was greatly appreciated.  The accommodation was clean and comfortable with great facilities and location.  Your hospitality and willingness to help us around town made for a good introduction to Tahiti.  We will not hesitate to contact you again when we have the opportunity to visit Tahiti.
15.10.06 - Neil and Sarah from Australia

Hi Beni, the new web page looks good. Thanks for a lovely stay at Fare Suisse. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was great that i was welcomed at the airport and taken to Fare Suisse. I would have been quite lost as it was my first visit. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. It was a pity that it was only an overnight stay. Thanks for the lift to the airport the following morning.
05.10.06 - Pauline from Brisbane

Fare Suisse was a delightful place to say – comfortable and clean and walking distance to Papeete.  Beni was a great host.  Would recommend unreservedly.
25.09.06 - Sheree from New Zealand

Thank you again for your hospitality for our stay in tahiti! Mum and I had a fantastic time there and your help was much appreciated! The staff at the hostel really helped us with our stay and trip planning in tahiti! Their friendliness and warmth was very appreciated since we were very foreign to the place and did not speak french or tahitian!!
12.09.06 - Judy from New Zealand

Thank you for your well organised gentle arrangements.Your guesthouse is so comfortable on the right spot in Papeete just at easy (5 min.!) walking distance from the charming harbour site: a restfull and beautiful place in a cool breeze.
